Is Weeknights free like Meetup used to be?
Weeknights is free to create a club and host events. You only pay 5% on paid tickets, with card costs included. Meetup's free Starter plan allows 2 events a month with up to 10 people and no paid events; running a group with paid events needs the Standard plan, from $29.99 a month or $174.99 a year.
Can I switch from Meetup to Weeknights?
Yes. Create a free club on Weeknights, set up your events, and share the link with your Meetup group. Many organizers use both platforms during the transition.
Does Weeknights have the same community network as Meetup?
No. Meetup's network is much larger. Weeknights is built around clubs that meet again and again: people follow your club, and regulars and people they've met show up on your next event.
Is Meetup's subscription worth it?
It depends on how you run your group. Meetup's Standard plan is from $29.99 a month whether or not you sell tickets, and members pay a service fee on top of each paid RSVP (3.7% + €1.25 in Europe). On Weeknights there is nothing to pay until you sell a ticket, and members pay the price you set.
