Book Clubs in Amsterdam

Yes, Amsterdam has many English-language book clubs thanks to its large international community. Most clubs on Weeknights operate in English, making them ideal for expats and English-speaking residents.

Most book clubs meet once a month, giving members enough time to finish the selected book. Some more active groups meet bi-weekly. Meeting times vary. Weekday evenings and weekend afternoons are most common.

It varies by club. Some rotate who picks the monthly book, others vote from a shortlist, and some focus on specific genres or themes. Check each club's description to see their approach.

You'll need access to each month's selected book, but you don't always have to buy it. Amsterdam's public library (OBA) has a great English-language section, and many members share or swap books within the group.
