About Amsterdam Film Group

Amsterdam Film Group brings people together to watch and discuss a wide range of movies in cinemas across Amsterdam. The club covers international cinema, arthouse, sci-fi, classics, action, drama, documentaries, and blockbusters. Screenings are organised by a team of hosts, with each event featuring a film chosen by one of them. Events involve meeting at a cinema, watching a film, and often continuing the evening with a discussion over drinks. Examples of past screenings include "My Father’s Shadow" (Nigerian Pidgin, Yoruba, and English with English subtitles), "The Social Reckoning" (English with Dutch subtitles), "Digger" (English with Dutch subtitles) paired with an anniversary celebration, "Amores Perros" (Spanish with English subtitles), "New Rose Hotel" (English), and "In the Name of the Father" (English with Dutch subtitles). Some events feature special introductions or are part of film festivals. The club suits people interested in discovering films and sharing their thoughts with others who love cinema.
