Cancelling an event
Sometimes you need to cancel an event. Here's how to do it and what happens next.
How to cancel
- Go to Host > Events
- Click on the event you want to cancel
- Click Cancel Event
- Confirm the cancellation
What happens when you cancel
Attendees are notified
All attendees receive an email letting them know the event has been cancelled.
Paid tickets are refunded
If your event had paid tickets:
- All payments are automatically refunded
- Refunds go back to the original payment method
- This typically takes 5-10 business days to appear
The event is hidden
Cancelled events no longer appear on:
- Your club page
- The events listing
- Search results
Before you cancel
Consider these alternatives:
- Reschedule - Edit the event date instead of cancelling
- Reduce capacity - If you can't handle the numbers, reduce spots
- Send a message - Let attendees know about changes
Can I un-cancel an event?
No, cancellation is permanent. If your plans change, you'll need to create a new event.
