Ticket requests and approvals
Last updated 21 August 2026
Some events review who's coming before confirming spots. Here's what to expect when you request a ticket.
Requesting a spot
- On the event page, click Request Ticket
- Answer any questions the host has added
- Click Submit Request
You won't be charged anything at this point - for paid events, payment only happens after the host approves you.
While your request is pending
Your request appears under Pending requests on your Tickets page. The host will approve or decline it, and you'll get an email either way.
Changed your mind? You can cancel a pending request yourself from the ticket - your spot is simply released.
When you're approved
- Free events: you're confirmed immediately - you're going!
- Paid events: you receive a payment link. Pay before the deadline to secure your spot.
Payment deadlines
You get up to 48 hours to pay, but never past the event start - if you're approved close to the event, the deadline is shorter. Your ticket shows a countdown, and we'll email you a reminder when less than 24 hours remain.
If the deadline passes without payment, your request expires: the spot is released to others and can't be restored. You can always request again if spots are still available.
If your request is declined
You'll receive an email, optionally with a note from the host. Nothing is charged.
