VAT on ticket sales

If your club is VAT registered, set your rate on Weeknights so buyers see the VAT at checkout.

Setting your rate

1. Click Payments in your host dashboard sidebar
2. In the VAT card, choose your VAT rate:
   • Not VAT registered
   • 9% (cultural and sporting events)
   • 21% (standard)
3. Click Save

The rate applies to events you create from then on. Events you have already created keep the rate they had.

What buyers see

Your ticket price already includes VAT, so the price buyers see doesn't change. At checkout the summary shows the VAT part of the price as its own line.

Your responsibilities

Weeknights shows VAT to buyers, but it doesn't file or pay VAT for you. You remain responsible for your VAT returns and for reporting your income. Ask a tax adviser if you are unsure which rate applies to you.
