Sold-out event? You can still get in when someone's plans change.

Joining a waitlist

When an event is sold out, Get Tickets becomes Join Waitlist. Click it and you are in line. The event page and My tickets show your place, for example "#3 on the waitlist", and you get an email with your position.

• You can only join once the event is sold out
• On a free event each waitlist place is for one ticket
• For paid events you choose your tickets and add a card when you join. Nothing is charged until you get a spot.

When a spot opens

A spot opens when someone cancels or is refunded, when a reserved spot isn't paid in time, or when the host adds more spots. It goes to the first person in line:

• Free events: the spot is yours. Your ticket is confirmed and we email it to you.
• Paid events: we charge the card you added and email you your ticket. You never pay more than the price when you joined.
• If the card doesn't go through: we hold the spot for you for 24 hours and email you a link to pay. If it opens overnight, the 24 hours start at 8:00. If you don't pay in time, it goes to the next person.

Some hosts give out waitlist spots themselves. You get the same email when they give you one.

If a spot is free and nobody has been given it, the event page says so and you can click Take the spot. For a paid event we charge your card, or you get 24 hours to pay.

Spots stop going to the waitlist 2 hours before the event starts. After that, a freed spot is open for anyone to book.

Leaving the waitlist

Changed your mind? Leave any time, so your place goes to the next person:

• Use the Leave the waitlist link in your waitlist email
• Or open the event in My tickets and click Leave waitlist
• Or click Leave Waitlist on the event page

Already got a spot and can't make it? Contact the host so it can go to someone else.
