Waitlists for your events
Last updated 21 August 2026
When your event sells out, a waitlist opens automatically - no setup needed.
How it works
- Your event reaches capacity and shows as sold out
- People can click Join Waitlist on the event page, each for one ticket
- When a spot frees up - a refund, a cancellation, or an approved request that wasn't paid in time - the first person in line is emailed automatically
- They book normally through the event page; the spot is first come, first served
Viewing your waitlist
- Go to your host dashboard > Events
- Open your event and choose Waitlist
You'll see two lists:
- On waitlist - everyone in line, in order, with their name, email, and when they joined
- Offered a spot - people who were emailed when a spot opened, with a Booked or Not booked yet status
The waitlist runs itself - there are no host actions to take. If you want to guarantee someone a spot, you can add them manually from the Attendees page instead.
Freeing up spots
Anything that releases a confirmed spot triggers the next waitlist email automatically:
- You refund or cancel a ticket
- An attendee cancels a pending request
- An approved request expires unpaid
Next steps
- Managing your guest list - Add attendees manually
- Refunding tickets - Releasing a spot via refund
